Sick Sick Sick Sick Sick

So the reason i haven't put anything up in a while is because the whole house has been sick. Well everyone but Peyton the little butt head. It all started with charlie breaking horrible fevers, then Therese got a sore throat and a cough, now i have a sore throat, nasty tasting cough, and i cant sleep. Charlie doesn't deal with being sick very well always pissin, moaning and whining like his father does when hes sick.

Sense the last time I wrote a few things have happened. Charlie said "o shit", and "god damn it" (good job dad) i thought it was funny but Therese immediately shot the "LOOK" at me and popped my bubble so i had to tell him not to say it. We got Madison and P's Christmas presents (Nintendo ds for each of them), so charlie should be jealous but were gonna get him one for kids his age.

Charlies fish is still alive which is a surprise to me every morning when i wake up. We put a DVD player in the boys room and now all charlie wants to do is watch George (curious George that is) and i gotta be honest its getting annoying. I'm still trying to figure out why someone hasn't shot the monkey that lives in the city yet, i would have at least tried to catch it and train it to get me a beer or be my caddie.

Peyton has got a bunch of bumps, scrapes, and bruises over the last week or so. He such a boy just climbing all over crap, falling, slamming into the wall. One of these times hes gonna knock himself out cold but then again maybe when he does it will be nap time.......ahhhhh nap time. He starts school in a few weeks which is gonna be nice for him to get out and away from his brother everyday and get to play with kids his age...god i hate the country.

We have some big news to but i cant tell anyone for a while which sucks cause the wife and i are super excited. If everything goes how we wish it does then things are gonna be alot nicer and happier in this house. I'm still looking for a career but living in Michigan make that almost impossible. Ive been trying to become a cop or a full time firefighter, but if the kids are all in school full time I'm going to school to work in radio. If that happens fingers crossed that i get into sports talk radio!

L.A. L.A. baby

This morning started as a typical morning does, the little dog woke me up around 6 am to go outside. So as I typically do I got my lazy butt up and put her out, but there was something different about the morning routine...the other dog didn’t want to go which was extremely odd but in my sleepy state of mind just blew it off and crawled back into bed. About 30 minutes after I heard a rumble of thunder and hurried to the back door to let the little nugget in. As I opened the door she flew in so fast that her chain tripped me and I fell on my back. I starting yelling at her and then looked outside to see a monsoon in full force in the back yard. I shut the door and looked at the former dog and now wet nasty looking rat dripping water all over my floor. When i got back into bed I realized why the other dog didn’t want to go out...she’s prissy that knew the rain was coming and didn’t want to get wet.

Charlie woke me up this morning to his new favorite song, the Jonas brothers TV show theme song....LA LA BABY. Its the only part he knows and he says it over and over and over as he does with anything he likes. Any song he sings he sings constantly till he sees you get annoyed which is his job as a 3 year old. He knows how to push my buttons but i also know how to push his. He also decided to pull out all 300 DVDs we have and get out every disc and stack them a mile high and knock them over...guess I shouldn’t have been lazy and got out of bed like a good parent.

We went to the park as planned and if you remember we had a monsoon this morning. As we got there Peyton ran as fast as he could to the slide and wouldn’t you know it the bottom was covered with water so p had some wet pants. Charlie on the other hand checked the slides before he slid down and didn’t go down any of them. They have a skateboard area at the park so we took the wagon and started riding down the ramps with it. Charlie thought that was the coolest thing ever. The boys got candy and juice at the party store before we went. As you can see in the picture below Peyton had a “this is crap” moment.

When we got home from the park I made Mac and cheese for lunch. I wanted to take my wedding ring off because my finger was hurting. As i tried to pull it off my fat finger it got stuck around the knuckle and starting tearing the skin real bad. So I’m standing there bleeding trying to figure out how to get the damn ring off and then a light bulb went off...PAM....yup I grabbed the cooking spray and lubed up my finger. By the way just a word of advice, don’t spray Pam on a cut it hurts like hell. After using half of a can, and getting pliers I got it off. That’s when the clean up began, the floor looked like I killed an animal and was slippery as hell. Of course I slipped and fell on my ass because I’m a klutz like that. I mean come on that’s how I roll. The boys sitting at the table laughing so hard I thought they were going to pee everywhere.

After nap time the boys were playing while i was watching some TV. Charlie started screaming bloody murder and crying hysterically. He runs up to me saying Peyton my eye, Peyton my eye. I called p into the room and asked him what happened

"I don’t know dad he was in the closet"

“Well then why is he saying Peyton my eye"

“I don’t know dad"

"Well Peyton he wouldn’t blame you if you didn’t do it so what happened"

"Well I was in the closet with him playing with the dart guns"

“So you shot him"

“No maybe he shot himself"

"Peyton he wouldn’t blame you if he shot himself"

“Yeah I’m lying"

“really your lying...p I already knew you were"....

After that for the next 2 hours Charlie walked around saying my eye is broke daddy, my eye is broke. Which it isn’t, he’s just being a drama queen like his mom.

EA sports its in the game

So today was an interesting day to say the least. I have an Xbox 360 and rented NCAA 11, for those of you who don't know at the beginning of any ea sports game it shows the logo and in a cool voice says "ea sports it’s in the game". Well today when I went to play, it said that and Charlie my 3 year old started saying it over and over and over and over, until his head was going to explode. Now whenever a show starts or he’s doing something with his toys he finds it necessary to say ea sports it’s in the game. He also sings a song now everyday for lunch. About 2 weeks ago I asked him if he wanted a hot dog and he said yes. Well in a brief moment of stupidity I sang to him Charlie wants a hot dog a hot dog (the hot dog part in an extremely high and out of tune manor). So now everyday for lunch he says Charlie wants a hot dog a hot dog over and over until I sing it back to him.

After lunch today I checked the radar to make sure there was no rain coming and sure enough there was a wall of water headed right for us so I said OK Charlie is going to take a nap and Peyton you can play the Wii while he is napping. Of course I laid down as well and when I got up no rain. What is the issue with my town that rain either goes just north or just south of us, what do we smell bad or something. Once Charlie got up from nap we went out to the pool and the kids reminded me how odd their sense of humor and how wild their imagination is. They found an empty Gatorade bottle in their wagon and started filling it up and dumping it on each other laughing and giggling like a couple of school girls, with Peyton saying cool every ten seconds. Then acting like it was lava or bugs or something screaming and yelling running away and chasing each other. I wish i still had an imagination like that.

I also changed around the bedroom today. I moved the bed and the computer desk; all while being supervised by a 3 year old. Id move the bed a little bit and he would tell me nope, move it a little more than I’d get a yup. After about 20 minutes of doing this its went from No's and yups’ to done yet, done yet, done yet. It was like working with my wife, who had no idea I was doing this by the way. We shall see what she says when she gets home from work. Dinner tonight is leftovers, either a chicken casserole or hot dogs.

Tomorrow is going to be another hot one so it will be another day in the pool, maybe we will take a walk to. The wife works late so it’s me and the boys all day, she won’t get home till after bed time. If you have any suggestions about what to do tomorrow with the boys please let me know. Thanks for reading.

The start of something great well at least i hope so....

I’m going to start my blog by telling you about myself. My name is Shawn and I am a 28 year old stay at home dad. My wife is 26 and the most beautiful woman I know; she is my best friend, my bodyguard and my rock. We have 3 total children but how they came about is a bit of a mess. So please read along as I plan on making entries of my adventures daily.

Our oldest Madison is 7; she is my princess from what was supposed to be a one night stand that turned into nothing but hassle and drama from her mother. Even though there is a ton of problems from her mother and lots of headaches I wouldn’t change anything that happened. She’s a little angel and I love her with all of my heart. She thinks like me, acts like me, hell sometimes she even eats like me. She does have some flaws I’m trying to help her change, like the fact that she’s always trying to do what she thinks you want her to do so your happy, which isn’t really a big flaw but I’d like her to make sure she is happy first before she worries about what other people think cause let’s be honest it doesn’t matter what other people think as long as your happy with yourself. We get her every other weekend, holiday and for the month of July so it’s hard to make sure she’s being raised right but then again I wouldn’t ever tell her mother she was doing it wrong anyway. She’s a parent also and we all have different ways of doing it. As far as her personality she’s a loud energetic, wants to make you happy, not very athletic but loves sports. She’s a big reader, but is obsessed with the TV, she loves everyone with everything she’s got and is getting better and making sure you know it.

The middle child is 6 and his name is Peyton. He is my wife’s baby from her high school sweetheart. In late august of 2005 about a month after my wife and I met his father suddenly and tragically died while on a fishing trip with family. After that happened I was extremely confused on how I should be, so I just made sure I was there for Therese. A short time after he passed I realized that it was time for me to step up and not replace him but take over and become this kid’s dad. I can actually somewhat relate to p because my biological father wanted nothing to do with me but that’s not a bad thing cause the man that became my father is my hero and I couldn’t have asked for a better dad. Some people say that I’m raising Peyton as one of my own, and I always laugh because he is mine,. He may not be blood but let’s be honest that doesn’t matter. I will be his coach, play toy, and best friend for as long as I can be. He is a very quiet kid, doesn’t like to hurt anyone’s feelings and he’s very emotional. He’s’ defiantly going to be a heartbreaker cause he already knows what the ladies want. When his mother is home he is always giving her hugs and kisses and telling her how much he loves her. He’s a big kid and a hell of an athlete for a 6 year old. He goes to his grandparents every other weekend, and we all go camping together. It’s nice that all of us can get along and that everything has turned out great for him, aside from his dad not being here but that’s what I’m here for. As long as he will let me i will be his father.

Our youngest is 3 and is the family court jester, his name is Charlie. He is ours, yup that’s right we made one of our own. He is a lot like me if not a mini me. Full of energy, athletic, emotional, loud, has to be the center of attention...yeah he’s just a smaller version of me. He is just figuring out that he can climb everything. Like yesterday I caught him on top of his TV that’s on top of his dresser trying to get the controller for the TV. He is defiantly the baby of the family and gets treated that way when the other kids aren’t around but then again we spoil them all more when we just have one of them. He loves his brother and sister to death but wants to be able to play with them more. With him being younger than them they ignore him a lot and it just pisses him off to no end.

Now when it comes to my wife she is 26 and works at a car dealership. She is the love of my life and I knew that the first time i saw her. She is a very strong woman and wears her emotions on her sleeve. She’s not afraid of anything and will put me in my place if I get out of line. She is a great mother and will do anything for anyone.

I plan on writing on here daily about all of my adventures as a stay at home dad. I will tell you about all the things we do as a family and all of the crazy things my kids do. I hope you enjoy everything I write and comment on anything you wish.
